André Scherer Pinot Blanc Reserve is a 2019 vintage with a pale straw yellow colour and a few speckles of green. Coming in at 12.5% Vol with a nose full of bright notes of citrus and tropical fruit like pineapple.
The finish is bright and fresh with a palette of green fruits such as apples which is closely followed by touches of melon, honey and peach. A refreshing acidity makes this ideal to pair with fresh crab sushi, Asian style lemon chicken or Matelote de poissons d’Alsace. Alternatively this is delightful to simply enjoy by itself on a warm day surrounded by friends and family.
This rich Pinot Blanc is from 30 year old vines and is aged in large oak tonneau before bottling. The 7 hectare estate is situated in the village of Husseren and is run by André’s son Christophe. With a combination of training in Burgundy and Australia as well as simply being a 9th generation winemaker, Christophe has fully taken over the reins of the family business.
