André Scherer Riesling Reserve is a 2019 vintage with a pale golden yellow colour and reflections of green. This has an attractive nose of honeysuckle, peach and apricot which has a lot to do with the Riesling grapes used.
On the palette, off dry notes of green orchard fruits and sweet basil are combined with slight citrus hints and minerality. The finish is crisp and clean with a great acidity and a pleasantly tart aspect. Best to serve chilled or with a cube of ice for the ultimate treat.
This is a wonderfully attractive Riesling with layers of perfumed flavours combining together seamlessly. Coming in at 12.5% Vol with a beautifully sustained lick of residual sugar which carries through on the palette to fully complete the experience.
Perfectly paired with fresh sea food such as grilled sea bream, rainbow trout or crab terrine with asparagus and chervil butter sauce. If fish isn’t your thing, enjoy with Moroccan chicken, Korean stir fries or maki rolls for an out of this world combination.
Ideal to simply drink with friends and family or try gifting to someone special in a hamper or custom case of wine.
The off dry white wine is from 30 year old vines which are hand worked by Christophe Scherer, the son of André. Each bunch of grapes is hand picked to help minimise intervention and keeps the fermentation process as natural as possible.
