Château Filhot Sauternes is a delightful dessert wine which is half the size of a standard bottle. This dessert wine is 13.5% Vol and has a balanced taste with a long complex finish and well developed aroma which becomes rich and complex with age.
A copper gold in colour with highlights of amber with a well rounded yet ripe flavour and a well integrated fruit and length. Created with a blend of mainly Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes with just a touch of Muscadelle.
All combined with a taste which is sweet yet moreish with a blend of honey, dry apricot and pear combined with creamy texture and a long finish. On the nose you get notes of wild flowers, ripe peaches and orange peel.
The grapes are harvested by hand south of the village of Sauternes on south west facing slopes. All combined with a light and gentle filtration 10 months after fermentation, blending after 14 months of fermentation and a total of 2 years in barrels and vats. The wine is then bottled 20 to 24 months after fermentation.
