The Pilchard Works Fillets in Olive Oil are the perfect store cupboard essential.

These beautiful tasting traditional Cornish Pilchard fillets are a limited edition put together by Cornwall’s oldest pilchard processors in collaboration with the world’s oldest sardine cannery, in Brittany.

Caught in the clear waters of the Western approaches using traditional techniques, the fish are caught in prime conditon. To capture the traditional flavour, they have been filleted and flash fried before being canned, with selected virgin olive oil, using techniques perfected since 1853.

The tin comes with a 19th century Newlyn School painting on the front, making them not only a tasty and healthy meal but also an attractive souvenir.

These wonderful little fillets work amazing on fresh toasted bread, simple yet fabulous. Alternately you can pop these in a variety of food, a nice crisp salad helps enhance the flavour.
