Ferdinando Principiano Barolo is a medium to full bodied red with a delightful garnet shade and hues of orange. Using 100% Nebbiolo grapes to create an elegant bottle with incredibly wide complexity.

With a vibrant bouquet of bright red berries, violets and leather as well as a touch of sweet spices and balsamic notes. Combined with a well integrated tannins and low sulphates, this elegant Barolo is great for the price.

Coming in at 13.5% Vol and aged for 24 months in large Slavonian wood casks.

The Principiano estate is located in Monforte d’Alba in Piemonte’s Langhe Hills, Italy and was founded in the 1950’s. Taken over by the founders son, Ferdinando in 1993 and since 2004 they have farmed biodynamically. They continue to use wild yeast fermentation as well as organic methods.

This 2016 vintage has a velvety mouth feel with a lingering finish of sweet spices combined with a hint of vanilla.

Paired perfectly with venison fillets and porcini mushroom risotto as well as delightful alongside chateaubriand and Ragù Pasta.
