Celeriac is a member of the root vegetable family which is turnip-like in appearance, and celery-like in taste, with a subtle nutty edge. This is truly a unsung hero of the vegetable world, that is ideal mashed, roasted or added to stews.
The outer skin is not edible and you should be able to remove it with a potato peeler. Ideal as a replacement for potato in mashed, chipped or roasted form, but also a perfect partner to rich creamy cheeses.
Why not try celariac, potato & rosemary gratin. Peel your celeriac and slice thinly for a twist on a filling side dish.
